Clouse offers expertise to MAKE-it steering committee
Posted 3/6/09

Pictured above is Kristina K. Clouse (first left), Regional Director, Workforce and Talent Division of the Ohio Department of Development. Clouse met with the local MAKE-it STEM steering committee members at their meeting on March 2, 2009. The steering committee members (administrators and treasurers from Fort Recovery, St. Henry, and New Bremen schools) discussed many ways that the consortium could benefit from involvement of the regional Department of Development in Lima. Clouse also pointed out specific ways that the local STEM Program of Excellence could help the regional center reach its goals locally and statewide.
Clouse will be a featured guest at the April 22 meeting of the three district consortium MAKE-it/PLTW Business Advisory Council. The meeting is open to the public. A location is yet to be announced.

One of the STEM MAKE-it goals is to work with COSI to bring STEM curriculum objectives to the students in fun and meaningful ways. The first of their visits to the Mercer/Auglaize Consortium was to Fort Recovery Local School District on Tuesday Sept. 23. The event began with an 8:30 assembly for all 5-6-7-8 graders in the Middle School gym.
Throughout the day, COSI presented small group sessions in the gym for all of the middle school science classes. Their topic was Investigating Energy. Twenty high school students helped with the small group instruction.
